Profile of a Prophet by Hugh B. Brown:
This is a very interesting discussion about what a Prophet of God really is. I tried to give my own take on what I believe it means to be a Prophet of God, and how the true prophets of God can be identified.

I don’t blindly believe. I believe because of the evidence.
I know atheists who blindly believe that God does not exist. They take that leap of faith or make that choice blindly. They can provide no convincing evidence for their claims.
I also know theists who believe in God because they have seen and experienced the things of God. For them, it’s not a leap of faith, but a full and complete knowledge that God does exist and that God still speaks to us today.
The quality and the quantity of the evidence (or proof) is all on the side of the theists. In fact, the atheists have no evidence and no proof for their blind leap of faith, yet the atheists demand that we believe them blindly whenever they make the claim that God does not exist.
The Bible, Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, and Pearl of Great Price are proof of God’s existence. They serve as written evidence of God’s existence. Living Prophets in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who have seen God and talked with God also serve as evidence and proof of God’s existence.
I believe, because of the evidence for my belief. It’s not a blind faith. It’s a studied and intelligent faith. I believe because of the revelations that I have personally received from God. I believe because I know (and know of) Latter-day Saints who have seen God, talked with God, and received revelations from God. We know that God exists because some of us have seen Him and talked with Him and even touched Him.
