Fair Mormon vs. Rod Meldrum:
One person kept referring me to this website.
http://www.fairmormon.org/reviews-of-dn ... -geography
He supposedly believes that this website proves Rod Meldrum, The Heartland Model, and the Book of Mormon to be a fraud. I don't have time to delve into all of this, because it isn't my specialty or current area of study; but, if someone has the time to point me to the controversy or the proof that Rod Meldrum is a hack, I'll get the message here on this forum and take a look, if you leave me a message.
For now, let me say that the articles are six years old, and they stopped making them!
Rod Meldrum remains in good standing with the LDS Church as far as I know; and, more and more of the LDS General Authorities are starting to back Rod Meldrum and his Heartland Model Theory. The Fair Mormon group seemed to think that Rod Meldrum was trying to steady the ark or speaking against the prophets of God; but, the subsequent history seems to indicate that that is not so. The LDS Church is usually quick to excommunicate apostates, especially if they have lots of public exposure or are building a following.
We are dealing with a paradigm shift here, within the Mormon Church, so there is bound to be some teething pains and tenured professors who are going to be upset by some of this. Some people have a vested interest in trying to put this thing down.
I don't see the problem; but, the person who kept referring me to the website believed that he had found the smoking gun!
The discussion of DNA and frauds led me to refer many people to this article from Hugh Nibley, entitled "Before Adam":

It's one of my favorites!
Of course, when it comes to the Book of Mormon DNA issue or controversy, I refer everyone to the free book, "Rediscovering the Book of Mormon Remnant through DNA". If the subject interest you, then download the book and read it!
I saw the movie!
